Another year and another income tax season! Maybe you’re an early bird and have already finished your taxes! If not, time to dig out those receipts, collect your paperwork, and break out the calculator. NOPL’s Income Tax Toolkit is chock-full of information and resources to help. You’ll find links to federal and state tax forms and publications, helpful phone numbers, and details about local resources for free tax return preparation assistance.
Each NOPL location also has some New York State and federal paper tax forms and instruction books available. We suggest you call your branch before visiting to be sure the form you need is here. You can also visit any NOPL location to print out online tax forms from the state and federal tax department websites. The first 5 copies are free to print and after that, it’s 10 cents per page.
Also, NOPL North Syracuse is hosting a weekly Tax Filing Advice program led by Bill Waters, a 30-year veteran with AARP/VITA, to answer your specific questions about your 2025 income tax returns. The program takes place each Friday, 11am to 1pm, now through April 10, 2026. Registration is recommended. This is NOT a tax preparation or filing service, but information about free tax preparation locations is available in the toolkit.
