Children’s Services

Our Children’s Services team is here to help your children develop literacy skills and discover the joy of reading. The Library offers workshops, story times, books, resources, and activities to help nurture a love of reading and learning. We also have children’s areas in every Library where parents and children can read, play, and learn.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Start your child’s love of reading and learning today with our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative. Experts recommend children hear at least 1,000 stories before they learn to read. Families who read aloud to their children strengthen their language skills and build their vocabulary.

Story Times & Events

We offer free story times and events for babies, toddlers, children and tweens throughout the week. With everything from arts & crafts, STEAM activities and maker fun to concerts, reading clubs and adventures for homeschoolers, there is something for every child to enjoy here.
