Two NOPL staff bringing Homebound Delivery bags to disabled patrons.

About Homebound Delivery

This service delivers books, audiobooks, music, and DVDs to patrons who reside in NOPL’s special district service area and who are unable to visit the library either temporarily or permanently. The service is intended for anyone who may be confined to their home for any reason, including but not limited to age, illness, injury, pregnancy or recent birth.

How does it work?

We offer two types of services for homebound delivery: Recommended Reads, where NOPL librarians select books for you based on your interests, and Holds Only Delivery, where you place library hold requests through the library’s online catalog.

When are books delivered?

On every third Friday of the month, NOPL staff will deliver library materials to your residence and pick up what you have finished. In the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, we may postpone delivery to another day or week.

How do I enroll?

You can download and print the application below, or we can mail one to you. The form can be returned to any NOPL location or mailed to Outreach Librarian at NOPL Brewerton, 5440 Bennett St., Brewerton, NY 13029. If you need a form mailed to you or if you have any questions about the service, please call the Outreach Librarian at 315-676-7484.
