If you can’t get to the library because of illness, pregnancy or birth, age, injury, or other reasons, NOPL can bring the library to you! We provide two free service options for Homebound Delivery: Holds Only Delivery and Recommended Reads. The Holds Only service delivers materials you place on hold through the library’s online catalog, and the Recommended Reads service provides materials selected by NOPL librarians based on your interests. The monthly service delivers and returns books, audiobooks, music, and DVDs.

If you live in the NOPL special district service area, you can sign up by completing an application form, available online or by mail, and mailing it to: Outreach Librarian, NOPL Brewerton, 5440 Bennett St, Brewerton, NY 13029 (or drop off at the NOPL Brewerton, NOPL Cicero, or NOPL North Syracuse branch). Visit www.nopl.org/homebound-delivery for an application and more details or call the Outreach Librarian at 315-676-7484.

NOPL also offers a Curbside Holds Pickup service that anyone can use for free. It’s particularly useful for cold or snowy days or even to avoid disturbing a sleeping child in a car seat. You can place a hold on almost any item in the library catalog or call the library to request items. We will send you a notification when your holds are ready, then you call a NOPL branch to schedule a pickup. A staff member will come out to your vehicle to deliver the held items.
