Herbal Summer Coolers

How do you stay cool when the temperature rises?  These herb concoctions will help!  Join herbalist Deb Thorna to look at ways to beat the heat.  We’ll try herbed ice cubes, lemonade, tea, granitas and ice pops.  You’ll receive some recipes and learn how to experiment at home.  There will be samples!

Puppet Show

Vernon Littlefield lived quite contentedly in his snug little mouse hole out in the country, that is, until one day his cousin from the city arrived and convinced him that his meals were too plain and small, and his home was tiny and unfit. Vernon had always thought of it as rather cozy.

“No matter,” said Greyton A. Rodent,“come with me to town where we can dine in style.” Indeed the food was excellent, and the rooms were lovely. However, a big cat stood constant guard there, and Vernon Littlefield longed for home.

decorative imageDan’s shows were created to educate people of all ages about reptiles. Through informative displays and interactions, the presentations are very successful in helping the audience better understand and appreciate the special nature of these animals and their importance to the environment. The programs offer a unique opportunity to experience many species of exotic reptiles. The audience is invited to interact with the animals on an up-close and personal level; viewing, touching, and asking questions are highly encouraged.

REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN JULY 14. If you sign up and cannot make it, PLEASE call the library (699-2032) as soon as possible to cancel. This allows someone else on the waiting list to attend in your place!
