Novel Databases; The NY State Library currently provides free access to 16 online resources through the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library (NOVEL). This statewide program is funded by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through a Library Services and Technology Act grant. The NOVEL collection of databases is available to all library patrons for in-library use as well as remote use from outside the library. EBSCOhost MasterFILE Select - Full text access to hundreds of general interest magazines plus an image collection of photos, maps and flags.

EBSCOhost Primary Search - Designed for elementary school students, it includes full-text access to more than 60 magazines and over 100 pamphlets, and an image collection of photos, maps and flags.

EBSCOhost Science Reference Center - Full text articles from hundreds of science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals and other sources. Designed to support the middle and high school science curriculum.

EBSCOhost TopicSearch - Information on popular topics of interest to middle and high school students using magazines, newspapers, government information and more.

Gale Business and Company Resource Center - Contains company profiles and histories, industry overviews, brand and product information, newsletters and magazine articles.

Gale Custom Newspapers - A collection of 150 U.S. and international newspapers all in full-text form.

Gale Health & Wellness Resource Center & Alternative Health Module - Contains magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on health and fitness, prescription drugs, herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments.

Gale Health Reference Center Academic - Health and medical information from journals, pamphlets and medical reference books

Gale Junior Edition K - 12 - A general interest database for middle school students with information from magazine and newspaper articles, reference books and maps.

Gale National Newspaper Index - Offers indexing and abstracts from 1977 to present for the Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post. The New York Times Book Review and The New York Times Magazine are also included.

Gale New York State Newspapers - Provides full-text articles from 10 major New York State newspapers, including the Syracuse Post-Standard (Feb. 1996-present).

Gale Twayne Author Series - Contains the full text of 600 books in the Twayne Literary Masters Series about American, English and World author

Gale Virtual Reference Library - Searchable full text reference books covering business, American history and medicine.

Informe - An index to full-text articles from more than 50 Spanish language magazines.

Heritage Quest - A collection of genealogical resources with digitized books and periodicals containing family and local histories from around the country, and searchable images of the complete U.S. Federal census, 1790 - 1930.

LearningExpress Library  - Interactive online practice for academic and licensing tests including ACT, ASVAB, GED, SAT and more.

NewsBank - Full text access to the Syracuse Newspapers from 1986 to present. It also includes Rochester and Utica newspapers
